BIO-ZINEs Collection
BIO-ZINEs are an independent zine series launched by Textiles Artist and Material Researcher Elle MacMillan as a post-graduation project. Since its first release in August 2024 it has grown into a globally reaching publication, with copies sold from across Canada and the USA to China and France.

The BIO-ZINEs collection aims to connect artists across the creative industries, by inviting readers to explore the world of bio-design through accessible experimentation and a shared commitment to positively impact nature. Each issue is designed to educate and inform, aiming to bridge the gap in often inaccessible knowledge about biomaterials.

Inside, you’ll find everything from natural dye recipes to interviews with 24 inspiring sustainable artists. Alongside the zines, Elle continues to develop her biomaterial library, most recently seaweed bio-yarn, which you can read more about in the latest issue, BIO-BUILT.
